I'll reiterate--babies are at risk for jaundice from having to break down
all the extra red blood cells (not to mention the cardiac effects of too
much blood volume) when too much blood transfuses from the placenta.  Also,
a pseudo-hemorrhage from blood transferring from the baby to the placenta...
