Actually, gerbils are fairly rare around here (we got our first pair in
Pensacola before discovering the back room of a good pet shop here in
Niceville has gerbils. They're not too easily found in the black tubs with
wire tops on rows of shelves in the farthest back room, that's for sure!). I
don't think many snake owners would want to buy $8 gerbils for their snakes
at a pet shop when they could just get a few cheap-o feeder mice at $1 or $2
apiece, so they probably won't be looking for gerbils to feed them.
Hopefully, there won't be any desperate snake owners who lie that they'll be
taking care of the gerbils, although I'd somehow doubt the probability of
that happening : 0-), (Luckily)
A little OT: I can't imagine being the owner of a snake who had to be fed
live rodents(especially after owning gerbils now!). Crickets, mealworms, or
any other bug-eaters, maybe (my brother's the bug fanatic, not me) but not
one who ate rodents. I'd feel so sorry for the poor mice or gerbils or rats
or whatever... I read in a sugar glider book (my mom wants sugar gliders
sometime, she's in love with them and their "cute"-ness) that sugar gliders
eat pinky (baby) mice(they're pink at birth like gerbils, for anyone who
didn't know). I'd bet feeding sugar gliders pinky mice would be almost like
feeding gerbils mealworms. ("Sure, they like them and will eat them, but
almost nobody does it anyway" sort of thing.) I really do jabber on and on,
don't I? : 0-),

begun listing all their names at the ends of emails? : 0-),
