I don't see anything you have to apologize for. I think it's just as
appropriate to ask cat questions here as to ask cavie/mouse/rat questions as
is more frequently done. Many of us have mentioned cats/dogs/birds, etc
that we live with or even bred/showed, so it's natural to assume there are
non-gerbil experts on the list.
