. It seems that our fine state has enacted a law
| that makes it almost impossible to humanely relocate animals. The law
| states that the animal must be removed from the trap within an hour of
| capture. Lovely thought, but not very realistic as most people cannot
sit
| at home all day and wait for an animal to get caught. Yet, it is
perfectly
| legal for someone to hire an exterminator to come and "dispose" of the
| creature using methods such as poison gas, lethal injection, or actual
gun
| if necessary. Go figure!
So can't you help to get it changed, Pamela? Laws often need fine-tuning.
Most legislators have websites now, and yes they do like to be re-elected.
You might start by hunting down the state agency responsible for
administering that law.
I will offer testimony to your lawmakers as to humaneness of my HavAHart
trap I'm not sure it has held a trapee for more than an hour, but they
always seemed happy with their discovered peanut butter. And it was much
better than the alternatives.
