Yes, Eva.  Slightly out of context.

I was writing for a brand new gerbil owner who had bought one, and I was
encouraging that she get another.  I threw in the parenthetical remark
because many people think that females are less aggressive than males in
ALL species.

It would have been better if I had not mentioned that parenthetically.
Better had I stressed that gerbil society gets more complicated with three
or more sharing a home.

(Pls remember it was only last May that a pet shop sent me home with three
young females and no warnings about possibilities as they grew mature.  It
happens that I have multiple females  --  mothers and daughters  --
living in a couple tanks peacefully, so far.  It was only in the bachelor
tank that murder occurred.)
