Oh, and I don't think you should force him to eat.  Digestion and metabolism
of food are really stresses to a body and he might not be able to handle it
right now.  Also, his GI tract may have shut down temporarily in response to
the stroke.  Offer him the porridge but don't worry about his not eating for
a day or two.  Watch his stools--if he has them it shows his GI tract is
probably functioning and he may be ready to eat.  If his belly gets bigger
(bloats) you may have a problem on your hands--the GI tract isn't working
right.  Watch for it and write back if it happens.  Again, good luck...
