Hi everyone,

my sister just returned from the vet and he diagnosed a weakness of the
heart that caused the blood to circulate slowly, resulting in too little
oxygen for the brains. The vet could still feel the heart pumping in a
strange way. The gerbil was also breathing heavily. He injected the gerbil
a fluid; a kind of catalyst that makes it easier for the heart to pump and
that increases his resistance against diseases (with vitamins etc.). Just
before my sister went to the vet the gerbil resumed eating a bit (gnawing
on his hay) and began to sit upright again, not tilted. The vet said he
could also make a film of the heart, but he would leave it for now. The
things they can do with such tiny animals!
So I think the gerbil passed this stroke. Thank you all for your help!

greetings, marielle
