My one gerbil Leigh just bite me. I don't mean a put-me-down bite. It was a
gerbil fight kind of bite, You know the kind where they hang on. Once she did
it my hand was gushing blood. She was in the split cage method with another
gerbil Brooke. I just got Brooke. Should I put her back in the split cage
with Brooke? Will I have to use gloves when I handle her for the rest of her
life? What can I do? She attacks my hand. She is about half the size of most
gerbils. I got her about a month before Brooke ,but Brooke is twice her size.
She always find a way through the divider no matter how I out it when she is
on the smaller side. She is from a pet store(PetCo). She only did normal
gerbil put-me-down biting until this. Whenever she is with another gerbil she
bites people more often. She was in the split cage with Bailey before. As
most of you know that didn't work out ,but in the end they did live together.
What if she gets out? How she be a hazard to my rabbits? I am afraid to tame
her because what if she does this again. It has been a good 5 minutes and it
hurts like heck! Are single gerbils ok? I don't know if my mom wants me to
have 5 gerbils(a friend for Brooke). Currently she is isolated from anything
besides what bedding and food. Help! Owww!!!-Molly
