These are incredibly cheap in Holland and Belgium but are very expensive
in the UK. Often when Jackie and I travel to The Low Countries we stock
up on these flower pots as even really big ones cost pence, whilst at
home even small ones cost pounds!
I've given them about a 4" pot, and all they've done is bury it...
I haven't heard them scratch on it yet.... and they've had it in there since this suggestion.

btw, they're pretty cheap here in the us too.... you can get them just about anywhere.
