This winter I rescued a baby gerbil that was going to be put down because
the owners no longer wanted it. They said it was a girl, but I usually
rescue cats, so I don't know much about gerbils yet! It's about 4-5 months
old now and alternates between being the most loving, curious thing to demon
gerbil. She occasionally bites out of the blue, hard enough to draw blood
(when I reach in to add something to the cage, for example. She's also
started thumping and digging a lot. I've been thinking about introducing
another gerbil--a feamle, as I don't have the resources to breed right now.
Any suggestions from the gerbil experts?
