problem

Hi, awhile back in december, I unsubscribed from this list to go on vacation, and, upon returning, I was happy to see a lack of messages, so I decided to stay off for good.  Well, now it's summertime, so I think I'll rejoin.  Anyway, the real reason for my joining again is that a gerbil, which I gave my aunt and cousin, has mysteriously died.  It's a male gerbil, living with another male in a 20 g. terrarium.  The gerbil who died, Riley, had been blind since birth, with his eyes just never opening.  >From what I've heard, there have never been any problems between him and the other gerbil, Chester, and, they are only a little over a year old, so I doubted it was old age.  Here's what my aunt wrote about it:   "upon closer inspection,  I found his neck bone sticking completely out of his neck.  Is it possible Chester killed him?  Have you come across anything like this in your gerbil research?
