I'm just sitting here, watching our gerbils and have to say: I'm so glad
we tried out dirt as bedding!
They are having so much fun digging and building tunnels. They seem more
active now, too and hardly spend any time digging in the corners.
We are using dirt for all the gerbils, except the male/female pair, because
we read that adult gerbils can dig themselves out of a collapsed tunnel, but
obviously, babies would not be able to do this. So it's apen for Luna's and
Rowdy's cage, even though they've been together for several months now,
and no sign of pregnancy.
Rowdy just doesn't seem to know, how to go about mating correctly.
