Scanning gerbils

If you put a pair of gerbils in a plastic critter case and put this on
to a scanner, can they be scanned? Are the scanning lights harmful?

Im thinking of scanning my Leopard geckos because im not sure if I have
a male. I wont scan them if its harmful.
