He's a Lilac. All Lilacs (and Argentes) must have the pink eyed GENE,
which expresses itself as a RUBY colored eye in these colors. It
takes an interaction with a gene on the second albino locus to get
the completely pink eye. Gerbils are a little weird that way. :)
