Hello
all,
So far, so
good. She's still alive, and she's started twitching her hind legs a bit
now and then. She's not been able to eat yet, so I've been feeding her as
much KMR as she'll take a couple times a day. Another theory popped into
my head last night as I walked into the gerbil room and startled another of my
gerbils: Is it possible that perhaps she was startled by something
and ran into the glass? Could a gerbil run fast enough to run into
the wall of the cage with enough force to hurt herself? She's fairly new
to her surroundings, and perhaps doesn't know the boundaries of her cage yet
(I've only had her about a week). She's housed in an 80 gallon tank, but I
glued a pane of glass in the middle and separated it into two 40 gallon cages,
and with bedding on either side of the glass, I even have a hard time noticing
that it's there. Maybe she tried to run to the other end of the 80 gallon
tank, only to be stopped halfway by an "invisible" glass wall? Is this
possible, anybody know?
Either way, she's
alive and seems to be doing fairly well, considering the
circumstances.
