I breed dwarf campbells, syrians, and chinese dwarfs.

There are many mis-labellings of the dwarf hamsters sold and kept.

Dwarf Winter Whites, also known as Russians; are a rather rare
animal to find.

To figure out if it is a winter white or not; look at the face of the
hamster. If the eyes are equally distanced between the nose
and the ears, it is NOT a winter white; or a winter white hybred.

As far as the color...

Regular: a sort of tanish dark grey brown, a little ticking of
black to the back; black dorsal stripe that runs from the neck
to the tail. Belly is white, at the sides there is some cream
colored fur as the belly fur meets the side fur. Eyes are black.

Argente: a sort of cinnamony tan that reminds one of golden
in gerbils. Still has the back stripe and white belly; eyes are
red.

Grey: There are a few versions considered, most common
is the animal has an overall medium dark grey color. Dorsal
stripe may be visible, as slightly darker.

I have a sport that cropped up, that does not have the tanish
brown cast to the coat; it looks grey with the slight black ticking
of the regular color. It's still being determined what color this is.

Albino: white, overall, red eyes. These are a lighter red than
the red considered as 'red' for gerbils. There is no 'pink eye'
designation for hamsters. That I know of, anyway.

European Black Bear: there is a variation of this in dwarfs now
too. Undercoat is lighter; overcoat is sooty black; but not solidly
black. Animal's coat is fluffier and finer than the other colors.
The dorsal stripe is visible. They will have white on the underside
of the chin and down onto the chest, and at the paws where the
nails and paw join.

Then there are many other colors (lilac, dove, blue, light grey, dark
grey, etc).

Let me know if I haven't described your animal, privately, and I'll
help you from there.
