Hello List,
I told a few people that I would keep the list updated about the 4 pups
whose mother died over the weekend. I am keeping the pups in with the
father since they can eat some solid foods. They have all survived the
night and I have more hope for them now. I have set up a nursery for them
that I put them in once or twice a day. It has nice soft bedding from the
nest of one of my other gerbils. I also have nice soft foods in there like
oat meal and cream of wheat (not mixed with any liquids just dry). I also
have some regular gerbils food in there too. The nursery is a tuperware
container that is pretty large. I set it up so I could put them in it as I
feed them the kitten replacer milk. They don't drink much but I also offer
them cream of wheat mixed with KRM and wheat bread diped in KRM. They eat
plenty of the cream of wheat so I'm not worried. I'll leave them in the
nursery for a couple hours so that I know they are done eating and then I
put them back with the father who lets them sleep in his big nest in a cave
rock for lizards that I have in their cage. The pups are very small for
their age and there is even a runt amoung the runts. I'm going to place
these sweet pups up for adoption when they are 6-7 weeks old. That will be
around the first or second week of July so if you are interested please let
me know. These pups all deserve a nice home and lots of love and care.
They should be extra friendly as I handle them so many times a day. There
are 3 agoutis and 1 black. I don't know the sexes yet, but when I do I will
let you all know. Please reserve 2 of these sweet little darlings, they
have been through so much and have been so good through it all. I also am
going to adopt out theri father too as you can see in my signature. I will
add the pups later, but I hope someone will reserve them before I have a
chance to. I really want these pusp going to someone on the list as I now
then they will have a great home. Thats my update. Thanks for reading
