Finally, we're on our way. We've been in Anchorage since Sunday night. On
Thursday, we're heading North & East to the Copper River for dipnetting for
salmon. Then on Saturday, we enter Canada and head South. If all goes
well, we'll be in Tucson by June 27th.

The vet trip went well but crazy. Last week I wrote about Ike's eye, but it
did not get better. The vet put him on antibiotic eye-drops because his eye
is inflammed. Sometimes it's open and sometimes it's still kept closed.
Ike's taken to nipping at us because he hates be held still for eye-drops.
His ex-roommate, Birch, has lost two toes and his leg is swollen. The vet
was concerned about an infection, so Birch is on oral antibiotics (I forgot
what type). He hates the stuff and we are having difficulties administering
it to Birch. Both Ike and Birch bit the vet, but all the other gerbils and
the rats were very well behaved. Raven refused to come out of his cage and
we had disassemble his cage in the vet's office. She (the vet) was laughing
most of the time. She had gerbils back in college.

Hopefully if the servers up tomorrow, I'll send you the website address to
my travel information and pictures of the trip. I have set no mail on this
list so respond personally if you wish to respond. Thanks!
Deb Adams
