Question #1:
It is not a good idea to put one female in with two males.
They will fight over her. If you want to breed, the best
thing to do is introduce a female to each male in separate
cages. Then you will have two breeding pair of gerbils.
Question #2:
You can buy a cover for a fish tank at any pet supply store or
you can make one yourself. I have made all of mine by using
hardware cloth fastened between a wood frame. The lid should
be big enough to fit over the edges of the tank.
