Males usually don't fight over the females, females fight over the MALES!
Females are the dominant sex in this species, so the males won't fight.  BUT!
 If you have two males and the female became pregnant, you wouldn't know
witch one was the father.

In the petstores they usually have lids that fit almost ANY tank size, they
have them in the FISH way (with no air holes and a light) and then they have
them in the RODENT way witch has air holes. I have a tank with no lid but its
a 55 gal tank (way to high for them to jump).
