What is the record for a gerbil surviving "on the lamb"?
I lived upstairs from a woman whose hamster was living in the wall for
nearly 3 months! She thought my cat had snuck in and eaten him and did
not even know he was alive until one day he showed up just sitting in
the middle of her kitchen floor bedraggled. He was pretty feral by
then.
