I think we've all had to chase down escapees ... word to the wise, never
grab them from above and behind.  If they don't see you coming instinct
will kick in, they'll think they are about to be some bird of prey's lunch,
and you'll wind up with gerbil teeth sunk into a finger!  I found that out
the hard way, one of the few times I ever got bitten.
