This may be a weird question?

I bought physco about 6 months ago and i wanted to get her a play mate but i
was told that i couldnt do it because they would eat each other. They dont
like to have other gerbils on their house.  When i bought her she was in a
cage with another gerbil they say that they had something between then and
that is why but i dont recall then having anything between them. Can someone
please help me Physco needs a playmate she looks bored. Thanks
