There have been several posts about GERBILS recently.
A few I did reply to PRIVATELY, as I felt the whole list
did NOT need to see the reply. So some of the 'unanswered'
posts may have been answered by me or others in similar
fashion.
A question may very well be posted 'widebeam' and be
answered privately only.
As for what constitutes what we should post here, is covered
by the GML charter, which is posted about once a month
for everyone to read.
Now that I have said that....
I am beginning to think my mystery colored girl is a light/diluted
colorpoint burmese. She is still pretty much solidly colored, with
no real darkening of the points, and that light tan tone yet. After
her moult she has darkened some, but she is still very light. And
extensive research through other's pictures, she is too 'brown'
to be a dove or sapphire.
I have also acquired two boys, and one is a grey, definitely a grey
color, dark not silver; and makes her look all the browner by
comparison....and a light honey blonde red eyed male. I am
going to research them tonight, so excuse if I can't give their
exact color now. The 'blonde' one makes the mystery girl look
ashy...she definitely has no warm tones to her fur color....
If I am guessing right, I will try to introduce her to the grey male;
and pair the honey colored one with my pied one of the same color...
::::::::::The Question::::::::::
If a male is about six weeks to eight weeks and the female is about
four weeks older; will they settle down alright if the split cage method
of introduction is used? [My experience with hamsters (totally DIFFERENT
animal) is that older males and younger females, or pair them up very
close together in age when they're young. Older females at 10-12
weeks, are about the limit of being paired up with something younger....]
