Greetings list,

I have three CP/LCP gerbils I'd like to ask about. They are littermates born
May 15, 2000.

Mother: aac(b)c(b)eeGGPPSp+ (now deceased)

Father: AaCc(h)ee(*)ggPp [reported ee(f) but previous breeding with schimmel
has shown no e(f)e(f) pups after 20+; outside chance of c(b) instead of
c(h)]

The three pups were black eyed white prior to first molt. There were seven
pups total, four littermates were 3 DEH and 1 nutmeg.

Currently, the female has a light cinnamon ticking on her body with a dark
gray tail. She has a very distinctive dark nose. She looks much like the
LCPN pictures I've seen. Male #1 is similar, though lighter. He has less
obvious ticking and much less color on his nose, though there is a dark
spot. Male #2 is still black eyed white. He has no ticking, though I
observed a molt line at 6-7 weeks. His tail is still completely white as
well.

It is my assumption that the female and male #1 are LCP nutmeg, and that
male #2 is LCP DEH, Sp or non-Sp still unknown.

Assuming my assumptions are correct, any theories as to what would account
for the variation in the female and male #1? If my assumptions are
incorrect, please tell me what you think.

If male #2 is LCPDEH, when (if ever) can I expect to see ticking and/or tail
color appear on him?

Thanks,

Amy H. aka MScottMGP
