A Silly Question

I have two old, large aquariums for my gerbils. Two gerbils are in one
aquarium and four are in the other.

My question is this:  I think the six gerbils would be happier if they were
all in one aquarium together. But I am afraid they will fight if I put them
together after they have lived apart for so long.

How would I accomplish this?
