I agree. I hate them. I hate the wait for pages to download, I hate the
clunky forms that need to be filled into post messages. The few BBs I
have used have found me rarely posting as I find the process so
irritating. And if a password is needed to access I simply can't be
bothered.
If people are paying by the minute for internet access as many people
still do, mail is much cheaper to download than being connected for
minutes at a time to a bulletin board.
I used to think this was why I hated using them. Instead I found it was
because the format is much harder to use intelligently than a mailing
list.
Furthermore, with a BB I am stuck with the interface. If I don't like
the way my mail reader deals with a mailing list I can reconfigure it,
or even buy a new product.
Don't expect to see me using any BBs.
