today i went to a pet store and found a small box packed with confetti it had one hole on each side. it cost 3 dollars. i went home and found a cardboard box. i began tearing paper and crumpling it up like confetti and it filled the box. i put them in and they had a ball they spent all their time burrowing through the paper. occasionally i would dig my hand in and pull one up as if I had won a prize or something. My whole family thought the way they were burrowing was so cute and I inspired two family members to buy gerbils themselves. you may want to try it and tell me how it works out.
