You should use something like hardware cloth for dividing
a tank for split-tank intros. Otherwise they tend to destroy it.
Look for bites on nose, paws, shoulders, and rump. And
the tail.
A ten gallon is the minimum size for two gerbils. I usually
use a 15 regular tank for a pair. [I got a lot of them inexpensively
and they seem to have so much more room for a pair].
