Having said this, I will also say that it's usually recommended by the
membership of this list that a gerbil pair, pets or breeders, be kept
together for life. Gerbils do bond to their cagemates, whether same or
opposite sex, and they're happier if they're kept with their buddies.

That brings up a question that I have. I have a breeding pair that I don't
want to separate, but I have to since they've produced some seizure pups. I
tried separating them with pups that they've had, mom with daughter and dad
with son. And they seem to be extremely depressed to be away from their mate
and pretty much just fall all over each other after I give in and put them
back together. It almost wants to make you cry to see how happy they are to
see each other. So, anyway, I was thinking about getting the male
neutered...but would like the opinions and advice of people who have had this
done. So if any of you could please email me I have some questions I'd like
to ask you. Thanks!
