Hi everyone. I have an idea I'd like to run by some of you. I have
two single gerbils right now, a female, Tootsie (who is elderly at 2
1/2 but still going strong) and Petey (my young adopted male with only
three legs). For many reasons, I am not prepared to do a full-scale
introduction and let them live together, even though I know Tootsie
couldn't become pregnant. (Maybe over Thanksgiving break.) However,
I thought it might be nice to build a cage with a screen down the
middle so Tootsie and Petey could visit for a few hours each day in
relative safety. What do you guys think about this? Would it be
stressful and not fun for the gerbs? Or would it provide some much
needed vitality and excitement for a couple of "singles"?
