Hi-
You certainly have a good idea. Before starting such a list, check to make
certain that such a list does not already exist. I am pretty darn certain
that there already exists hamster, rat, mice, chinchilla and guinea pig
e-mail lists. Some lists may even be more active than this one. There may
already exist general rodent lists.
The GML is and, in my opinion, should be a list about gerbils (Mongolian and
other species). We shouldn't duplicate already established lists. Although
the occassional question about non-gerbils is acceptable, these questions
should stay in the minority.
Although I admire your desire for change, I also enjoy this list as a gerbil
list. I also belong to a ferret list and a sheltie list. I enjoy the
unique nature of each list and would not want to alter any of those lists by
expanding their topics to include other animals.
