i have 2 younger siblings, so i consider myself quite learned on the subject
of degloving... i have had gerbils lose what looked to me more blood than it
seemed possible to have IN them and end up fine.... i have both read and seen
on nature shows that degloving is quite natural and normal..... the gerbil
has a reflex that actually releases the tail skn somehow to help the gerbil
escape predators in the wild.... what has always worked for me is to water
down some neosprin and dab it on the wound (the last part of skin let the
bone DRY OUT!!) as often as you can..... i always water it down to prevent
poisoning
