I have traveled as far as 2 hours with a gerbil in a small plastic "Critter
Keeper." (Plastic aquarium) Probably something like that should be fine.
Either bring one to the petstore with you or buy one at the store. A little
shavings, a small box or tube for chewing, a bit of food, maybe a little
fruit for moisture would be a good idea to add to the container for the
gerbils' comfort.
That should be fine.
