If they chew on it, they get 'strings' of fibers. These can wrap around
limbs and cause amputations, or around necks and strangle, or if
ingested, will not break down and be passed, instead they will cause
fatal intestinal blockages.
Flax fibers are made into linen fabric. Hemp fibers are made into rope
and other items. Stay away from hemp as it can produce fibrous strings
that are dangerous.
