By all means, try the humidifier.

It could also be the bedding.  That can happen at any
time without warning.

Try the humidifier first, and doublecheck that there
aren't any cage bars or protrusions or even a lip
on the water bottle, that they could be rubbing it
on in their evening 'dance' sessions (that wild
eyed, stretch and stand up, dig furiously, especially
in a corner or by the water bottle, to escape bit).
