Can someone explainGenetically they are the same -- carry the Sp gene and can produce spotted pups. White on the chin and paws is not spotted (Sp). Any white any where else (typically on top of the muzzle or head) is spotted. Pied is a variation of spotted where the white creates a ring all around the neck, usually there is a white blaze between the eyes and a white tail tip, too.
to me the difference between pied and spotted?
Spotted gerbils can create any colors non-spotted gerbils could (except with or without the spotting)

I don't have any argente, but did have an argente cream (carries ch and has silvery white fur tips). http://www.geocities.com/abcgerbils/more_cara.html?959310971310The gerbil in the center looks like my two.
Don't know if that helps at all.
