My local Petland charges $6.99 for a 10 gallon, and has for years. Most
everything else I buy through mail order for my gerbils, cat and fish. I find
Petsmart to be expensive and their selection can be limited. There is a huge
place in Pennsylvania called That Pet Place, that is cheaper and has a better
selection. They will also send you a catalogue if you ask and if you are
close enough you can visit the store yourself.  You can reach them online at
