Ok, I have a question for those of you who have had years of experience
with gerbils.
Presently, I have a dove gerbil who is just a little over 2 years old.
She is still quite active and an avid chewer. We own a Hartz PlayCity
cage, so basically it is a plastic cage. I love the design of the cage,
but it IS plastic and we all know the nature of gerbils is chewing.
Well, the cage needs replacing. We are thinking about getting the
standard 10 gallon tank. But we had tried this previously and it didn't
work out. We never found a water bottle that would work, they leaked
constantly. Also, where do you put food? We tried putting it in a
gerbil bowl, but she just buries it with the bedding. And lastly, there
is no form of exercise to give, such as a wheel, since I'd prefer not to
use the hamster wheel with the covers so the tail isn't injured. Any
suggestions?
