Hi Sondra --

If you have to go for any time without a water bottle,
provide something with water in it such as an apple
slice or carrot.  I do this if I go away for the
weekend, too, in case the water bottle runs dry.

But I wouldn't leave them water-less for more than
about a day, even with the fruit/vegtable.  You could
have dehydration or fighting problems.
