I also have noticed a huge shortage of gerbils in all
the local pet stores in my area in New Hampshire and
Massachusetts over the past four month. I am getting
more response from people who find me on the internet
looking for gerbils and cannot find them. The last
two pairs I sold were to people who had to drive 45
minutes to get to me. Hope gerbils are not falling
out of favor in the small pet market, because, of
course, they are the best.

PS -- thanks so much for the help on my pup with the
respiratory infection. He's doing much better but
will not lap at the KMR so I am very concerned.
Strange thing is all the other 5 pups are still (at
four weeks and a day) nursing. He's the only one
that's not.

I am new to this list, but I wanted to post a
question. In I can't find gerbils anywhere, I've
tried our local pet shops, I've even driven all the
way to Richmond to try to find them. Nobody has
any. Is this problem unique to Virginia, or are
more people having this problem? Does anybody
know of any breeders in the Charlottesville, Virginia
area? We had one pass away recently, and would
like to get at least one more.

Thank you,
