A baby male 4-5 weeks old would be a nice companion for him, Males
rarely hurt gerbils much smaller then they are. Many would suggest a
6 week old but a small gerbil size is needed.
The Dominant one is the one doing the grooming. He is putting his
saliva on the other one, with the message that he is boss. This is
one way gerbils communicate.
