I missed the earlier posts, so I hope I understand correctly what's being
discussed.

I've had great success in introducing young male pups to older male gerbils.
My oldest gerbil, Dumble, (abou 2 years) was introduced to a young gerbil
who had a head tilt from previous trauma. He was very gentle and protective
of Blaine. A couple weeks ago, I introduced another pup to them both,
because we don't excpet Dumble to live too very much longer, and wanted
Blaine to continue to have a partner after Dumble. They were both very good
with the pup, Dusty, particularly Dumble. They're all great together.
