Re: Gerbil showing a lot of skin-is this OK?

Sweetie isn't a newborn. He is 7 weeks old and has been over his respiratory
infection for 2 weeks now. When I pet him he seems to lack the normal coat
and shows a lot of skin. Do some gerbils just have thinner fur and less of it
than others? He is a pied gerbil, off black in color. Actually I thought he
was black till I saw him next to a new addition, who is solid black, except
for white paws.
And I have switched from pine to aspen.
