I knew Ophelia was pregnant, and I was waiting with SO much anticipation for
her first litter, but I didn't even find out she'd had them until just a few
minutes ago! I think she had them on Wednesday, because I noticed that she
was much skinnier than she had been...so of course I got excited and was
looking around from every angle, but couldn't see any little pink babies. I
got frustrated then, thinking maybe she hadn't been pregnant after all, and
even yesterday (Thursday) when I looked around, I didn't see or hear
anything! So this morning before I went down to bed, I walked over to say
good night to all my gerbils, and Hamlet started thumping his hind legs,
which brought Ophelia out of her house to thump hers, too. It was then that
I heard this tiny squeaking, so I hurried over to turn on the light, and
found two babies!

Despite the fact that it was 4 in the morning, I ran downstairs, woke Mom up,
and showed her one of them (I know, dumb idea to take them away from the
parents, but I was SOOO elated that I couldn't help myself!). Her reaction?
"Oh, gross." Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait 'til they get fur before
she'll fall in love with them! ;)

I think I'm more excited than if it was MY baby, LoL! At any rate, I heard
about that pup count thing...what exactly is it? Maybe I should have asked
about this earlier...I HAD read something about it before on a website, but
back then I wasn't thinking too much about breeding so I didn't pay
attention! At any rate, you can add my 2 pups to the count, if you'd like!
Now I wish I'd worked more on my website...I'd planned to have it open on the
same day as the pups were born, but I got lazy thinking I was just imagining
her pregnancy! ;) At any rate, sometime soon I'll post a link to my new
site! In the meantime, thanks for putting up with a first-time grandmother's
excited babble! ;)
