Millions has been spent on vaccines that are effective and do not mask
the disease. Current vaccines will not stop an already infected animal
from passing on the disease. Also they only last six months, and you
need to vaccinate against all major strains (about seven at last count).
There are some major advances on the horizon, for example, vaccines that
allow a test to distinguish between an infected animal and one with just
the vaccine.
