more pups.....

hi again, has any body ever heard of a female gerbils that has pups but produces no milk?   Blanche had two more pups on Sunday and shy had three (I think) on Monday morning... Blanche is quite obviously producing milk, I've watched her feed all the babies, she has visible teats and she's a bit greasy tummywise...but shy does not have any visible teats and although I see her with the pups they seem to be searching her tummy in vain....   now I know Blanche will be able to rear them all by herself... and I put a divider in the tank to keep Bob from mating her this time (I wasn't quick enough for Blanche) and I've decided to leave Blanche and Shy together as they seem to get on very well...that is except for other day when they seemed to spend all day chasing and pushing (no fighting) each other. was this to do with their imminent births?   any advice would be greatly appreciated..... cheers Colin
