Just tossing out a few ideas here....
Having two boys in elementary school, I know that the
detective approach (using clues, etc.) would
definitely keep them interested. In fact, clue-finding
and magic are both big with them right now, so a
magician 'mixing' gerbils together and 'magically'
creating other colors would really keep their
attention, too. Anything humorous will be memorable
and enjoyable. Audience participation is also your
best bet. When they learn without even realizing that
they are learning, they really have a great time and
can't wait to share what they've learned with everyone
they talk to after school. :)
Good luck! Have fun with it.
