I used to use SAM tanks, I had two of them, a small one and a big one. I got
the big one first ($45 at a small pet store), it was heaven for a gerbil that
liked chewing. The gerbil kept gnawing on the entrances and popping off the
siding doors. He got out 2 times everyday for a few days. I had a brand new
one (the smaller one) that I had just got at Petco for $30, I was waiting
until I had some money to buy a tube (to hook them together). Instead of
buying a tube, I got a 10 gallon tank and a lid. The bigger tank had too
many holes around the sliding doors, that anything could have got out. The
smaller on is still in my closet, I only use it for emergencies (it has metal
sheets that go around the doors, so nothing can gnaw at it, but I still don't
like the tanks anymore).
Never again will I ever waist more than $75 dollars on a tank, or
should I say "chew toy" again!
