We found out our local vet DOES have the gas anesthetic, so we are
going to see about getting Pip's scent gland tumor taken care of,
tomorrow if possible. It'll cost about $60-80 based on what my husband
was told.
This is really a load off my mind. I have hope now that Pip's life will
not be cut short.
I found some Ornacycline at PetsMart and have been using it in his
water bottle (he had been picking/chewing at his tumor and it was
bleeding). Gerbils drink so little water, do they really get enough of
the medication to do any good?
He seems pretty perky. We swabbed his tumor w/peroxide the other night
to clean it up. He didn't much like being scruffed, but it sure did
keep him still!
